30 Days.
30 Lessons.
30 Progressions.
9 Group Zooms.
5 Tunes.

This is my most ambitious course yet.

A lot of students have asked me for something more challenging, with a set pace. So I built this: one video lesson every day, plus two group classes with me each week.

Everyone moves together, in step. Each lesson has multiple difficulty levels, from intermediate to extremely advanced. It’s built for YOU.

The course is foundational but also wild. No 2/5/1’s or standards—just modern, forward-thinking harmony from my own perspective (the stuff you won’t get anywhere else, lol). Push hard for 30 days and you’ll come out the other side much stronger.

This course is a commitment — that's the point, and the only way I know to get better. But I'll be there alongside you (and your classmates) helping you succeed. Hope to see you there.

— Kiefer

Be ambitious for yourself.

The best way to learn is through commitment. Take on the challenge of writing consistently every day for 30 days, and see how far you will go.

FAQ

  • How does this work?

It's a 30 day course, starting on Sept 15 where you will get a new lesson every day for 30 days.

In addition to that, there will be 1) two group Zoom calls with me once a week on Thursdays and Sundays for Q&A and direct instruction, 2) a new song to learn each week, 3) a bunch of daily and weekly writing challenges.

  • Who is this course for?

Any intermediate or advanced pianist is welcome. You should definitely know the basics of scales and chords, as we will go pretty deep into harmony stuff. Some of this stuff is pretty hard even for me — although I've included back up options when that's the case.

Most importantly, it's for musicians who want to take their music seriously. I've always found I make the biggest strides in moments of deep commitment — and that's what I'm trying to help you do as well.

  • When does it start?

Day 1 is Sep 22. Day 30 is Oct 21.

  • When are the Zoom calls?

Thursdays and Sundays at noon PST. It's OK if you miss one or two. These are a chance to touch base together, not required.

We will record the Zoom calls and share them for those unable to make them live.

  • What will I learn?

This course is about MY approach to harmony — that is the stuff that's resonated most with me in my piano career so far. Less standards and 2/5/1s and more switching keys, modal interchange, and George Duke. We're going to go deep.

  • Do we keep access to the lessons after the 30 days?

    Yes.
