Develop fluency in jazz harmony.

The goal of this mini-course is to simplify jazz harmony down to a few core concepts and then give you 11 études to get them in your fingers. The first part is free, parts 2 & 3 cost $10.

To me, the way we teach and talk about jazz harmony has always felt too complex for what it is. I want to change that.

That's the goal of this mini-course — to break things down into a few simple concepts that we can master and translate across songs and situations. In particular, my hope is that these tools will help you:

1) memorize tunes faster,
2) improvise more easily,
3) transpose quickly and fluently,
4) play more chord substitutions,
5) play static chords in a more interesting way.

If that sounds like the sort of stuff you'd like to learn, then check it out. The first part is free — just click "Free Preview" above. The second part is only $10. Dive in, and then when you're feeling ready, hop into one of my deeper courses.

See you soon,
Kiefer

He’s always seeking to understand music more deeply, and you can feel how lit up he is by sharing that understanding with others.”

John Gastaldo

“I'm a student from China, fourth course with Kiefer here. My English isn't great, but I get everything that counts — because he teaches real concepts in real talk. No jargon, just stuff you can use right away and for life. And his passion? Totally contagious. This course isn't just exercises — it's a mindset. It shows you how to grow and keep going. Kiefer's the real deal. Best courses out there.”
